Yogurt Rice or Curd Rice or simply Thayir Sadam in Tamil, is a creamy, non-spicy, tasty and satisfying meal. This is one of those dishes that is very simple and easy to make using very common, readily available ingredients. The main ingredients for this dish are yogurt and cooked rice – it’s as simple as that! It has its roots mainly in the southern parts of India and is especially consumed as a healthy summer coolant. Yogurt rice can be consumed by itself as a full meal with some pickle and chips to accompany it. It is otherwise consumed at the end of a full-course meal, to keep acidity at bay! So don’t be fooled by its humble background… ๐
