Crispy Chili Potatoes

Well, who doesn’t like potatoes? I’m sure potatoes have a special place in everyone’s hearts. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Potatoes cooked in any form is yummy. But, Spicy and crispy potatoes are my favorite! Crispy Chili Potatoes is an awesome snack or appetizer that will simply captivate your senses with its spicy, tangy and sweet flavors. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Try this special recipe and let me know how you loved it!

Crispy Chili Potatoes

Ingredients

  • For Sauce:
  • 1. 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2. 1 tsp Red Chili Flakes
  • 3. 1 tbsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 4. 2 tbsp White Sesame Seeds
  • 5. 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 6. 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 7. 2 tbsp Honey
  • 8. 1 tsp Red Chili Paste
  • 9. 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 10. 1/4 Cup Corn Flour Slurry
  • For Coating:
  • 1. 5 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 2. 5 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 3. 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 4. 1 tsp Garlic Powder/ Paste
  • 5. 1 tsp Red Chili Paste
  • 6. Salt to taste
  • 7. Water as required for coating
  • Main Ingredients:
  • 1. 5 Medium Potatoes cut into fingers
  • 2. Oil for deep frying
  • 3. 2 tbsp Spring Onion Greens Chopped

Instructions

Remove extra starch from the potatoes by washing under running water.

In a mixing bowl, mix all the coating ingredients together. Coat the potato fingers evenly and deep fry in oil till half cooked. Remove and keep aside.

Re-fry the potato fingers in oil after 5-10 mins to achieve perfect crisping. Keep aside.

Now to make the sauce, heat oil in a wok on medium heat. Sautรฉ red chili flakes, garlic and sesame seeds for a minute till toasted. Now add the remaining sauces except slurry and mix well. Next add the slurry and heat till the sauce thickens.

Add the crisped potato fingers to the sauce and coat well. Garnish with spring onion greens and some more sesame seeds.

Your Crispy Chili Potatoes are now ready to serve hot and enjoy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Notes

You may adjust the spices and honey to your liking.
