The soup can also be used as a dip for flatbreads such as roti, naan, pita bread or any bread of your choice. Requiring just a handful of readily available ingredients, this mildly spiced healthy soup is sure to pleasingly satisfy a hungry tummy!
Dried Green Peas Lentil Soup (Atnya Humman)

- 1. 1 cup Dried Green Peas (Lentil), soaked overnight
- 2. 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 3. Salt to taste
- 4. 1 sprig Cilantro, chopped
- 5. 1 pinch Asafoetida (Hing), optional
- For Seasoning:
- 1. 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2. 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 3. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 4. 1 sprig Curry Leaves
Instructions
Soak the dried green peas lentil overnight and adding required water, pressure cook them till soft and tender.
Add red chili powder, salt, chopped cilantro and asafoetida and mix well.
Heat coconut oil in a small pan. Once the oil is hot, add all the ingredients for seasoning one by one. When the seeds begin to crackle, toss the seasoning into the soup.
Your delicious Vegan Dried Green Peas Lentil Soup (or Atnya Humman) is ready to serve hot! ๐

1. You may use dried green or yellow peas for this recipe. Both taste just as great.
