Print RecipeIngredients
- Dough:
- 4 cups bread flour
- 1 1/3 cups warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oil, for greasing pan
- 1 teaspoon cornmeal, or as needed
- 1 (14 ounce) can vegan pizza sauce
- 1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 20 kalamata olives, sliced
- oregano, or to taste
- crushed red pepper to taste (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as desired
Instructions
Combine bread flour, warm water, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Once the mixture comes together, knead it on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled large bowl, turning it once to coat. Cover with a towel and allow to rise in a warm spot for about 2 hours or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease two 14-inch pizza pans with 1 teaspoon of oil each and sprinkle them lightly with cornmeal.
Split the dough into two portions and roll each into a thin round. Move each round onto the prepared pans.
Spread vegan pizza sauce evenly over each crust. Layer with mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and olives. Dust with oregano and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
Bake for around 20 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the sauce is bubbly. Garnish with crushed red pepper before serving, if desired.
Notes
Tips:
For perfectly gooey results, use freshly shredded vegan cheese and add it right before baking. Allow your dough to rise in a slightly warm, draft-free environment for the fluffiest crust. If you prefer a crispier base, roll your dough extra thin and pre-bake for a few minutes before adding toppings.
