- 1 cup dates (khajoor), pitted
- 1 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds (khus khus)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
- ¼ cup dry coconut (kopra), grated
- ¼ cup cashews (kaju), chopped
- ¼ cup almonds (badam), chopped
- ¼ cup pistachios, chopped
- ¼ cup walnuts (akhrot), chopped
- 2 tbsp raisins (kishmish)
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder (elachi powder)
Instructions
Warm ghee in a pan and lightly roast the poppy seeds and sesame seeds until golden and aromatic.
Add grated dry coconut and saute until it turns a light golden shade.
Mix in chopped cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and raisins. Continue roasting over low heat until the nuts become crunchy and slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Add pitted, crushed dates and cardamom powder to the pan. Mix thoroughly, gently pressing the dates to help them blend evenly with the nuts.
Cook for a few minutes until everything comes together in a sticky mixture. Remove from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
